Steve Jobs at D8: Foxconn, iPhone prototype, TVs, and more
Posted on June 2, 2010 | No CommentsIn case you hadn't heard, Steve Jobs got downright conversational last night at D8, riffing on questions from Walt, Kara, and the attending audience of elites. You can hit up the entire liveblog for a timestamped play by play, or browse through some of the highlights below.
- On TV: 'no one wants to buy a box'
- On Foxconn: 'We're all over this'
- On lost iPhone 4G prototype: it's an 'amazing' story
- iPhone OS 'started on a tablet'
- 'There might be' advantages to two iPhone carriers in US
We put some extra scintillating quotes after the break to shield the eyes of your children. Just a note, however: all of these are paraphrased quotes typed live as Steve was speaking, and not to be construed as the verbatim Word of Steve Jobs, though the gist is certainly there.Continue reading Steve Jobs at D8: Foxconn, iPhone prototype, TVs, and more

Series finale of Lost is headed overseas faster than usual
Posted on May 21, 2010 | No Comments
Good news for anyone watching Lost outside the US who doesn't already chase down new episodes on torrents, newsgroups, Rapidshare or wherever else, for the final episode several countries will see it aired at the same time as the West Coast broadcast here, while a total of 59 countries will watch within 24-48 hours. Disney Media Networks is crediting the shortened window to the show's great appeal (and the fact people may be killed over revealing spoilers before it airs locally) which will bring it to UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, and Turkey in the (no subtitles) simulcast. Check after the break for the other broadcasters on an accelerated schedule.Continue reading Series finale of Lost is headed overseas faster than usual
