- ABC (720p) has Wipeout at 8 p.m., and the series premieres of Rookie Blue at 9 p.m. and Boston Med at 10 p.m.
- Comedy Central (1080i) has the season premiere of Futurama at 10 & 10:30 p.m.
- NBC (1080i) has 100 Questions at 8:30 p.m.
- USA (1080i) has Burn Notice at 9 p.m. and Royal Pains at 10 p.m.
- Spike (1080i) has TNA: Impact! at 9 p.m.
- Showtime (1080i) has Penn & Teller: Bullshit at 10 p.m. and Green Room with Paul Provenza at 10:30 p.m.
- TLC (1080i) has Police Women of Memphis at 9 p.m. and Mall Cops: Mall of America at 10 p.m.
- ESPN (720p) presents the 2010 NBA Draft at 7:30 p.m.
- ESPN2 (720p) has 2010 College World Series action at 7 p.m. and World Cup Primetime at 10 p.m.

Pioneer lowers prices on Elite A/V receivers again, the well-heeled respond with derision

Pioneer is introducing a new batch of Elite A/V receivers aimed at making the line more affordable (if less, well, elite). The VSX-30 and VSX-31 feature iPhone and iPod control via Pioneer's iControl AV app, HDMI 1.4a with 3D support, THX Select2 Plus audio, and an Ethernet port for accessing Sirius XM, Rhapsody, and files off of your home network. If that weren't enough, they've even thrown in an composite video cable for your iPod / iPhone so you can enjoy your portable audio and video on the big screen. The VSX-30 will run you $550, while the VSX-31 (with a second A/V zone) is going for a cool $650. It's not exactly a Swarovski-bejewled HTPC, but we guess it'll do in a pinch.

Roku, Clearleap bringing cable VOD to media streamers

We remember when Roku's streamer was a simple Netflix box with potential, but now the company is teaming up with Clearleap (check after the break for a NewTeeVee interview with CEO Braxton Jarrat to offer it to cable companies as a combo unit that can also serve up their premium video on-demand content. No word yet on any MSOs stepping up to offer their VOD via the device, but Clearleap says it will be in "multiple trials" over the next few months and expects a limited commercial deployment by the end of this year. So far, "over the top" services and traditional cable VOD haven't lived together in any meaningful way, who wants to place odds this partnership gets the ball rolling?

RCN picks up seven of Viacom’s HD channels

RCN's hardly the first to go for Viacom's 7-pack of HD channels, but we're sure fans of Ultimate Warrior, The Hills, The Daily Show, iCarly and other programs will be glad to have them. Comedy Central, CMT, MTV, Nickelodeon, Spike, VH1 and BET go live today, with HD video on-demand offerings hitting servers July 1. RCN's claiming 100 HD VOD viewing choices, just a few thousand or so behind Comcast at this point, but we figure an upgrade is an upgrade, and at least on RCN you can watch them on a TiVo Premiere, so there's that right?
