Creativity Bursts at Florida Elementary School as HGTV Design Duo Join Bounty to Reveal Classroom Makeover

CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Change was in the air today at Pine View Elementary School as teachers, students and community members gathered to take in the vivid transformation of the school’s art classroom designed by HGTV Home by Novogratz stars, Robert and Cortney Novogratz. The designers helped Bounty grant a $25,000 classroom makeover to the school as the culmination of a campaign which began over the summer to encourage teachers to register their classroom supply needs on TeacherWishList.com.

“We were so excited to create this ultimate art classroom”

Working with the Pine View Elementary School staff, the design gurus spent the past week transforming the students’ art room into a colorful, creative lab. Dramatic additions were made including the infusion of sturdy, colorful furniture that plays off the graphic black and white tiled floor, new technology, and reusable art supplies, all of which will benefit staff and students for years to come.

“We are beyond thrilled and excited about the new art space the Novogratzes have created for us where our students will now be able to unleash their creative juices in a fun and engaging space,” said Jill Hallauer, art teacher at Pine View Elementary. “This makeover demonstrates the importance of the arts as part of a well-rounded education, and we’re grateful to Bounty for this extremely generous and much-needed gift.”

Schools that registered five or more teachers through September were eligible to win the classroom makeover, the grand prize following a series of $462 grants Bounty awarded to teachers who began registering their classroom supply lists with TeacherWishList.com in July. TeacherWishList.com, a School Family Media site, allows teachers to register for much-needed classroom supplies, and in turn, allows parents to make a difference by fulfilling unmet needs. Parents may continue to help teachers in their communities through TeacherWishList.com.

“We were so excited to create this ultimate art classroom,” said Robert Novogratz, designer and Bounty spokesperson. “Cortney and I have always emphasized the importance of the arts in education and we are honored to have partnered with Bounty to make a difference in the lives of the teachers and students at Pine View Elementary School.”

The TeacherWishList.com site launch was the result of a recent Bounty study that found that the nation’s teachers report spending nearly $500 a year each out of their own pockets for school supplies.

“We are extremely pleased to enhance the learning experience for the students and teachers at Pine View Elementary School with the classroom makeover,” said Laura Lewis, external relations manager, Bounty. “Bounty continues to be dedicated to making a clean difference for educators and students.”
