World Cup 2010 final game is coming to movie theaters in 3D
Posted on June 25, 2010 | No Comments
So maybe you're like our friend Jimmy and want to check out some World Cup action in 3D, but don't know where to go to see it. Luckily Cinedigm is adding to its list of sports broadcasts by bringing the World Cup final to a few moviehouses in 3D. Check out the official site for the current list of locations, although there are far fewer than we've seen available for events like the NCAA Final Four and BCS National Championship game. Maybe if the US team moves on we'll see that number improve but if all you want to do is slip on some 3D specs and catch some football international-style, we'd get a ticket now.World Cup 2010 final game is coming to movie theaters in 3D originally appeared on Engadget HD on Fri, 25 Jun 2010 14:32:00 EST. Comcast, Time Warner, Bright House pick up Coke Zero 400 3D broadcast
Posted on June 25, 2010 | No CommentsLooks like Turner Sports has no problem sharing its first NASCAR 3D broadcast, and as a result Comcast, Bright House Networks and Time Warner are all on board for the July 3 Coke Zero 400 race. Already announced for DirecTV and internet streaming, the night race will have two feeds, one of trackside cameras and one on the pits and feature the network's "Wide Open" format, promising more unobstructed race action free of national commercial breaks. Of course, we'd like to know what the next big 3D event is more than just a couple of weeks ahead of time, but if you're one of the few with the necessary hardware, we're sure any content is welcome no matter how it arrives.Comcast, Time Warner, Bright House pick up Coke Zero 400 3D broadcast originally appeared on Engadget HD on Thu, 24 Jun 2010 23:19:00 EST. NASCAR upgrades Coke Zero 400 to 3D July 3 on PC and DirecTV
Posted on June 21, 2010 | No CommentsIt's time to add another 3D sporting event to your calendar, now that NASCAR and Turner Sports have gone public with plans for a 3D broadcast of the Coke Zero 400 July 3. Viewers can watch on DirecTV or online via TNT RaceBuddy. The hardware requirements for PC viewing are similar to those from the Masters broadcast, and we don't expect to hear DirecTV is in a more sharing mood than cable companies were then, so it will probably be the only option to watch this on TV. NASCAR is promising two custom feeds for the 3D broadcast, with one consisting of strategically placed track side cameras, and another focused on pit road. We're really waiting for a 3D Gopher Cam, in wall cam, and roof mounted cameras, but those can probably wait for the second race that airs in 3D.Continue reading NASCAR upgrades Coke Zero 400 to 3D July 3 on PC and DirecTV

ESPN3 comes exclusively to Xbox 360
Posted on June 14, 2010 | No Comments
The recently relaunched ESPN3 online portal is coming to Xbox 360 , as just announced during Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference. Trey Wingo and Josh Elliott from SportsCenter are on stage demonstrating with footage from a USC / Ohio State game, and of course it has built in Kinect controller support. 3,500 live sporting events, instant replays, highlights, polls all at your fingertips or by the sound of your voice. The PiP stuff will be familiar to fans who have already indulged online, but with the new control aspects (and of course, HD streaming) it could give a reasonable alternative to the existing channels. The usual requirement of Xbox Live gold is present, but beyond having a TV provider / ISP that's signed up for the package, there's no additional charge.ESPN3 comes exclusively to Xbox 360 originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 14 Jun 2010 13:20:00 EST.
